Fatimata Vetu
Photographer originally from Mali, Ivory Coast, Gabon and France. I have been living in the Bay Area for the last fifteen years. I studied documentary and studio photography in London, where I focused on portraiture and abstract realism to accompany the sensitive narratives of the human condition. I look for evocative presences as a motif to epitomize the infinite alternatives of what I call in short ExileDiem: "what it means to be here, being there, to be elsewhere, now, and then; for the past is in the present and in the future lies this very moment".
I have created and produced Exilediem events in California and in the U.K. The work is always a collaboration with artists: musicians, dancers, poets, etc to produce live performances and record still and moving images, with the aim to support artists in the presentation and the continuation of their work.
